Globally recognised experts in the knitting industry, Stoll gb is the sole agent of Stoll flat-knitting machines in the UK, selling knitting machines for over 35 years.
They have a Knitting Design Centre in Leicester, which is the UK’s only fully functional knitting facility, working alongside designers to develop their design ideas.
We were tasked with creating an information based, mobile-responsive Content Management System website which integrated a blog and knitting machine links to machine specifications on the Stoll website. The emphasis was to be on their high quality service and product as well as to encourage knitwear designers to use their state-of-the-art facilities.
As Stoll gb had no web presence, we started with the basics; a colour palette, keeping to the blue and white of Stoll gb’s current corporate stationery and literature. The sitemap was kept simple with emphasis on The Knit Design Centre. There are strong call to action contact forms throughout to encourage potential clients to arrange consultations, to arrange for staff machine handling training and for designers to use their unique Knit Design Centre in Leicester.
We included a video on the homepage, using different formats to ensure it would play across all devices and browsers. The 79CMS allows easy access to amend, add and delete knitting machine specifications whilst there are a variety of differently formatted contact forms corresponding to the needs of the customers; whether they require an appointment or a spare part.
Seventy9 Creative's article module allows users to set different content and images to show in more than one category; for instance one article can be seen within the blog and a news section at the same time; each styled to the relevant category in its own template.
